enXco, Inc. Announces Completion of Construction at Spearville, Kansas Wind Energy Facility


Escondido, CA - enXco, Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of the Spearville Wind Energy Facility located approximately 15 miles northeast of Dodge City, Kansas. This facility was built for Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L) in cooperation with Mortenson Construction.


"enXco is extremely pleased that this milestone project for KCP&L is complete, and that it was completed ahead of a very tight construction schedule, especially given the fact that a tornado hit during construction, ” reported Tristan Grimbert, President and Chief Operating Officer. "We want to express our appreciation to KCP&L, Mortenson Construction, GE and everybody in the local community along with our dedicated enXco team members for their contributions to this vast wind resource in Kansas."


enXco has also been selected by KCP&L to provide O & M services for the Spearville project which consists of 67 GE 1.5 MW turbines, utilizing 77m rotors and 80m towers, and is capable of producing 100.5 megawatts of electricity to meet the annual energy needs for about 33,000 homes. enXco O&M provides services on more than 500 MW of the GE 1.5 MW turbines nationwide.
