enXco Begins Construction on Solar Project in Fresno, California
Escondido, CA. - enXco Development Corporation (a subsidiary of enXco, Inc., an EDF EN Company) announced today that it has begun construction on its first Solar Project located on the grounds at the Fresno Adventist Academy. This project consists of 267 KW of ground mounted solar photovoltaic panels. This Sun Harvest project will be located in Pacific Gas and Electric's territory and is expected to be on line in early November.
enXco will be supplying the PV panels from EDF EN's global supply agreement with First Solar. enXco will be financing the project as its long term owner and operator with the Fresno Adventist Academy buying the energy produced from the project over the next 25 years. 3rd Rock Systems & Technologies, Inc. will be the general contractor and PGE will also be providing financial incentives under the California Solar Initiative.
"While enXco has been a leading renewable energy player in the wind industry for over 20 years, and although EDF EN, its parent company, is a larger player in the solar-energy arena, this will be enXco's first solar project in the US." stated David Kirkpatrick, Director of New Business Development. "This project is one of the first in the US to use First Solar's innovative thin film technology. We look forward to rapidly expanding our portfolio of additional solar projects in the near future."
