Director of Client Relations/ Senior Client Relations Manager (2)
Scope of Position
This position will actively manage relations with all current and potential end-users for enXco wind, solar and other projects. The job holders, will be responsible for all current and future clients in a respective energy region and will meet regularly with all major clients. The job holder will be expected to know and understand all regional RTOs/ISOs or other regulatory entities in his region as well as to represent the company in all local, regional and national market and industry forums. The jobholder will work with other originators and with senior developers in all regions It is expected that the job holder will be located in his region preferably in an existing enXco office.

Division/Department: 50% Power Marketing and 50% regional development.

Working Conditions
30-40% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project), telephones and general office equipment. 60-70% of the time is spent in the field nationally and regionally, meeting with appropriate industry representatives and other potential sources of business, and attending appropriate national or regional conferences for various girds and wind, solar or brown energy.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate requests for bids (RFPs/RFBs) both nationally and internationally, working in conjunction with the regional developers and the power marketers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment bankers, business developers, utility executives, regulatory and government bodies, government power agencies, public power entities, energy marketers and traders, and other potential sources of business.
- Know and understand regional grids (SERC, WECC, MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, NEPOOL) and structures and pricing – as required by offtake agreements for Projects.
- Conduct market research/analysis related to the renewable-energy market both nationally and internationally. Understand and be able to price RECs (Renewable Energy Credits, Emissions (NOX,SOX, CO2) and how regional and state rules impact projects.
- Identify "top prospect" projects within the appropriate Region or Geographic area of the United States, and actively lead the marketing for off take agreements.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by VP of Power Origination in conjunction with the regional Head of Development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related discipline preferred.
- Three to five years experience in wind-energy or energy organization/association.
- Strong preference given to experience in the wholesale electricity or gas businesses, and to a proven record of accomplishment in Power or Gas marketing or origination or Business Development for green or brown energy or other commodities.
- Strong client relations skills and the ability to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties.
- Experience working with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft-software products.
- Strong Excel and VBA skills preferred.
Summary
Applicant will be expected to have strong marketing skills and to have very strong client relation skills as this position will involve managing and developing relations at several levels in counter party organizations. Very strong consideration will be given to applicants that can demonstrate past success in these pursuits at a wholesale electric or gas entity.
