Regional Solar Plant Operator
Scope of Position
The successful applicant will be able to perform a wide range of tasks associated with the daily operations of utility scale photovoltaic plants. Activities will include the performance of repetitive and moderately complex tasks associated with component testing, coordinating warranty activities, performing repairs, and processing associated forms and paperwork. The position requires the daily monitoring of system performance and quick response to outages and equipment malfunction. The applicant will be required to work independently and without direct supervision. As a result, strict adherence to safety policies and procedures is essential. The work must be performed in a wide range of weather conditions and may require occasional overnight travel.

Location: Long Island, NY / New Jersey
Classification: Non-exempt, hourly
Working Conditions
10% office, 90% field in all weather conditions. Including nights or weekends in special circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of PV plants
- Prepare reports, maintain logs, manage inventory, other clerical tasks.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate warranty activities and supervise 3rd party work.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- 5 years industrial electrical or mechanical experience or equivalent education
- Proven supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work without supervision.
