Job Description


Project Origination Manager


Scope of Position
This position is directly responsible to assist in identifying, evaluating, and developing projects for enXco. The jobholder will work with Project Managers in the region, Resource Assessment, Land and Title, and will be involved in wind solar, and biomass or biogas.


Reports to: Vice President Development, Midwest Region
Division/Department: Development
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Classification: Exempt


Working Conditions
20% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project), telephones and general office equipment. 80% of the time is spent in the field regionally , evaluating potential project sites and meeting with appropriate landowners, governmental officials industry representatives and other potential sources of business, and attending appropriate national or regional wind and solar conferences or various transmission grid operations.


Responsibilities
  • Support negotiations on behalf of enXco for development projects.
  • Know and understand regional grids (SERC, MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, NEPOOL) as required for Project interconnection.
  • Understand Regional and individual transmission tariffs as it relates to generation interconnection, transmission service and ancillary services.
  • Conduct market research/analysis related to the renewable-energy market both nationally and internationally. Understand and be able to price RECs (Renewable Energy Credits)
  • Identify "top prospect" projects within the assigned Region or Geographic area of the United States, and actively lead the initial phases of development of the projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, , Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related discipline preferred.
  • Three to five years experience in wind-energy or energy organization/association.
  • Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties.
  • Experience working with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft-software products.
