Job Description


Real Estate Paralegal


Scope of Position
enXco, Inc., an innovative wind energy development company, is searching for a real property paralegal to join its Escondido, California legal department.


Location: Escondido, CA


Working Conditions
100% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers as well as other office equipment. Frequent use of phones, general office equipment and various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite products is required.


The position is classified as exempt.


Responsibilities
  • Assists in the review and detailed analysis of all real property documents, including but not limited to easements, leases, preliminary title reports, title commitments, ALTA surveys, etc.
  • Assists with drafting, editing and coordination of real property documents; and drafting-related back-up memoranda.
  • Coordinate with title companies and surveyors for development projects.
  • Assists in administration of company real property agreements; and may assist in maintaining real property tracking system for company real property development rights.
  • Reviews files, conducts research, cross-references findings to file and prepares draft responses for Corporate Counsel.
  • Assists developers in analyzing and acquiring targeted real property rights for the development of wind energy projects.
  • Prepares legal correspondence for Corporate Counsel.
  • Acts as liaison with designated outside counsel and their paralegal staff.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Paralegal certification by an institution approved by the American Bar Association.
  • 7-years of real estate experience in either a law office or in-house legal department, preferred.
  • Ability to work professionally with attorneys, other paralegals, Senior Management team, other enXco employees, enXco clients, vendors, etc.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as projects and tasks require.
